Map Room Chili Cook-Off

The Map Room held its first (hopefully, annual) chili cook-off on January 29.

The event was open to anyone over 21 willing to place their chili bad-assery on display and compete for the right to say that on one day they were the Greatest Chili Master in the Map Room. Ten hearty souls signed up. The bar was packed - we had a line out the door - and the chilis were outstanding!

The best chili and best pairing categories were judged by a secret elite committee of chili mavens selected by the bar, while the fan favorite was chosen by everyone else in the room. After two hours of sampling, the champions were announced. They were:

• Overall Best Chili: Eric and Mel Routhier
• Best Pairing (chili matched with a tap beer): Karim Dajani
• Fan Favorite: David Thomas
